What a wonderful tale of the lengths a parent goes through for their children。

3。5 A fun read for the holidays with a repeating verse。 Stick Man lives in the family tree but he gets taken up and used for all kinds of things separating him from his beloved family。 Kids will enjoy。 Lots of good rhyming although since she's british it can somehow come off a bit different for american readers。 3。5 A fun read for the holidays with a repeating verse。 Stick Man lives in the family tree but he gets taken up and used for all kinds of things separating him from his beloved family。 Kids will enjoy。 Lots of good rhyming although since she's british it can somehow come off a bit different for american readers。 。。。more

I thought this book was as good as the ‘Gruffalo’ which signifies the theme of adventure and how the Stick man tries to be independent but also forgets about the importance of family。 This book does later on develop a Xmas theme which I do not think many children might notice before reading the novel。 This book is ideal for children between Reception - Year 3 children with how adventure and independence can result if one step is taken in the wrong direction。

Beautifully written; heart-warming story of feeling undervalued, lost, losing a loved one and happy reunion

Honestly a 10/10 book but in reality I just wanted to finish the year on 50 books and I’ve read this so often at work I’m basically word perfect so it’s getting counted

The crew that brought readers the Gruffalo, Room on a Broom, and even Zog have a new creature to capture our hearts。 Stick man just wants to get home to his family tree, but it will be a long journey。 The cadence is spot on, the rhymes work。 This silly story is sure to be a family holiday favorite。#Wintergames #teamreadnosereindeer +26

We're big Donaldson/Scheffler fans in this house and had been saving this one for Christmas。Poor Stick Man had the indignity of being used as part of a game of fetch between owner and dog!Through various misadventures he is determined to be reunited with his family, it's rather fitting that having been stranded since the summer he finally makes it back at Christmas。These books are always a delight with fun rhyming prose and distinctive illustrations。 We're big Donaldson/Scheffler fans in this house and had been saving this one for Christmas。Poor Stick Man had the indignity of being used as part of a game of fetch between owner and dog!Through various misadventures he is determined to be reunited with his family, it's rather fitting that having been stranded since the summer he finally makes it back at Christmas。These books are always a delight with fun rhyming prose and distinctive illustrations。 。。。more

Synopsis: Stick Man heads out for a run but meets an unfortunate fate of being mistaken as a plain old stick by a dog, a girl, a swan, and even a dad。 With each misadventure he gets farther away from home and misses his family。 However, he partners up with Santa on Christmas Eve to help deliver presents, eventually making his way all the way back home to his family。Similar style as the gingerbread man。 Not really heavy Christmas focus until the last few pages。

We just love this book and the show。

This book is absolutely adorable and I admire the personification between the stick and other animals。 Stick man lives in his family tree with his lady love and three children。 One day, he went for a jog and dog chased after him and wanted to play with him。 However, Stick man insisted that he was not a stick and was to be left alone。 Eventually he became used as a pen, hook, a bow, and boomerang, and so much more。 Poor Stick man! I enjoyed reading this book。 I also enjoyed the illustrations。 I l This book is absolutely adorable and I admire the personification between the stick and other animals。 Stick man lives in his family tree with his lady love and three children。 One day, he went for a jog and dog chased after him and wanted to play with him。 However, Stick man insisted that he was not a stick and was to be left alone。 Eventually he became used as a pen, hook, a bow, and boomerang, and so much more。 Poor Stick man! Really loved this book。 Stick Man has a clear sense of his identity and is (amusingly) increasingly frustrated by animals and humans moving him or using him as a toy or decoration。 It also had an unexpected Christmas theme towards the end。

Sally

A fun addition to my Christmas library。 Such a clever story!

Emma

This is a great, fun story to read at Christmas with brilliant illustrations, lots of rhyme and repetition。 It would be good to use in KS1 and would encourage children to join in with the story, making reading more interactive and enjoyable。
